Simple and Reliable Malaria and Tuberculosis Diagnosis in the North of Kenya
DRG supports the Samburu Aid Association located in Wetter, Hessen (Association against hunger and environmental degradation e.V.). For about 20 years, this association has striven to improve the living conditions of people in a barren stretch of land north of Kenya through donations. Agricultural development including a water supply through construction of a cistern and a corn mill to ensure food security has already taken place. A school that can house 550 children is under construction and a small hospital for primary health care has been built. Among the most pressing health problems are malaria and tuberculosis. In both cases the therapy requires a reliable diagnosis in order to prevent the development of resistance of pathogens to the existing drugs. Here DRG provides rapid diagnostic test systems which are easy to use and can be operated reliably by local personnel.
