Handover of the certificate for the DRG:HYBRiD-XL
On February, 12th, 2016 the German Design Council invited to the celebratory award ceremony of the German Design Award 2016. The award ceremony took place on the Frankfurt/Main trade fair ground in the context of the international trade show Ambiente 2016.
The event was presented by Julia Bauer (presenter at N24) and Andrej Kupetz (Chief Executive of the Design Council). The German Design Award is awarded since several years and has itself established over the years to one of the most renowned German award for product design. The high reputation of this award is surely also attributed to the top-class jury which intensively studies the submitted products and values them individually. So the comparison done by Mr. Kupetz is of no surprise: he compares the German Design Award with a German Oscar for Design.
During the award ceremony all gold-winners were individually honored and acclaimed. Furthermore awards for a special Design Personality and a Newcomer of the year were handed over. All other winners like those of the Special Awards received the certificate followed by an official photo.

DRG´s Product Manger Julia Räder and Director Automation Simon Middleton received the award.

German Design Council - History
60 Years German Design Council - 60 Years Design Culture
The German Design Council is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. Its establishment as a foundation, which was decisively driven by the BDI, was preceded by a resolution by the German Bundestag which demanded the establishment of such a body to strengthen the competitiveness of German industry.
On 13 June 2013, the German Design Council commemorated its parliamentary roots under the motto 60 Years Design Culture with a debate in Frankfurt's Paulskirche. Speakers from various sectors explained the importance and perspectives of the discipline with regard to politics, business and society. The festive ceremony was accompanied by an international congress to be held on 14 June in Frankfurt/Main which was dedicated to the subject of a European design policy for a very good reason.
